I am still working on organizing, cleaning, unloading moving boxes, etc.  Thought I would share some of my mercury glass collection.  Most of this was given to me as holiday gifts.

Hopefully soon I will be having more updates on living room!

New sofa and chair

Remember my recent post about the PB truck that showed up at my new home?  Well what was in the truck was a new sofa and chair purchase.

This is how it happened, one day my husband, son and I went to Charleston for a visit and lunch.  Before we even had  lunch, I had visited PB alone and just made the purchase before my husband even knew about it!  HA! HA! He came looking for me in the store and he just came in time to pay for the purchases.

I still have to put on the slip covers!  They are an upgraded brushed canvas fabric in the color of stone. 

Make sure you stop by and see the final look once they are covered and embellished with some pillows.  I also found some beautiful pillow covers that I fell in love with....

Also another giveaway will be coming up soon in time or spring!

Kitchen Stools

Well I am finally in my home.  The first room I would like to tackle is the kitchen.  We still need to paint, however, I am happy and love the color so I am keeping it!  I want all my downstairs to be in a natural color scheme.

Just ordered new stainless steel dishwasher and stove which should be installed very soon!  So there you have it, just a quick glance at the kitchen.  Will be back with more updated pictures to share with you.


Also looking for a hanging pot rack, any ideas where I could check?  I had a lovely All Clad pot rack in my last home but it stayed there!  I really do miss it!  Perhaps I will check out Williams Sonoma again.....

How do you like my new stools?  I just recently purchased them and thought they would look great with our counter top in kitchen.  I scored on these as I only paid $90.00 for the pair!

Dash & Albert Rugs

BEDSIDE TABLE UPDATE

Hello There,

Hope you are having a wonderful day!  I wanted to give you an update on my bedside table project that I have been working on.  Here are photos of before it was painted.

My project included:  applying primer, then sanding with a light sandpaper, applying first coat of Benjamin Moore White Linen.  I let it dry between coats and applied a second coat of paint.

I just bought these cute knobs from a local hardware store.  They are  Acorn Forged Iron from Massachusetts.  I spent more than I wanted on them, however, I do like how the project turned out.

Another Sneak Peek

I am getting so excited on my move and I think I might have decorate-itis!  (is there such a word?)  Ha!

Recently I visited one of my favorite decor shops, Jolie Home and Events, and found this beautiful bench.   I could not resist not having it so I made the purchase.

Here is a quick peek of it at the store......Can't wait to use it in my home!  Now - my next step is to purchase some cool pillows.....

Well I have to run now and finish cleaning since we have a couple that has a appointment to see our rental.

Beautiful Day To Walk In Beaufort

I want to do a different post today instead of decorating.  Since I live in the Low Country now, I wanted to share a small tour of Beaufort,SC.  The weather was so gorgeous  for the month of February-- yes 70 degrees,  that I decided to take my stroll thru the historic area.

Beaufort was founded in 1711 by the English and the second oldest city in South Carolina.  Beaufort is renowned for its southern charm, military presence (Parris Island), antebellum homes, art galleries, and beautiful coast-line.
While walking, I observed so many things including beautiful gardens in bloom at this time of year!   I observed Magnolia trees, lemon and orange trees, Tea Olive Trees, roses, Camellia and too many to mention.  Also observed English type gardens dotted with miniature Boxwoods, fountains and numerous wrought iron fencing and gates.  While turning the corner, I also noticed the daily tours via horse-drawn carriage along with a tour guide.

The homes are just magnificent with the southern charm along with rockers and wicker furniture on their porches and hanging flowers.  The ceilings of many of the homes porches  are painted a light blue referring to the color of the sky or to ward off bugs.

There is so much to do in Beaufort as the activities are endless.  Just to name a few, boating, fishing, jogging, running, and golfing.

Did you know that Beaufort is the setting for many movies?  Remember when Forest Gump was running on the bridge over the Mississippi River---  well the bridge is actually located near Beaufort on St. Helena Island (the sign (Mississippi River) from the movie  was left behind after the movie, and some tourists actually believed it was the Mississippi River). Other movies that were filmed in Beaufort include:  Prince Of Tides,   Big Chill and G.I. Jane.

I could write more and share so much more with you, however, I will follow up with part two of the tour at a later date.  Hope you enjoyed the tour!

Valentine Tea

What are your plans for Valentines Day?  Do you prepare your loved one dinner at home or do you make reservations out?  I know that it is a very busy day for restaurants since my brother owns a restaurant  back in Pennsylvania.   This year I will have to celebrate over the weekend since we are moving over Valentine's.  No problem with me, this way it will be extra special.

I wanted to share this table with you before it gets packed on to our moving truck.  The bistro table and chairs will probably be placed out on my patio of new home, I just love this set.  This year, I did not make my heart cutouts so I just bought them at the grocery store and sprinkled pink sugar on them. 

Did you see the quote on the spoon?  I came across this when I was shopping near by and couldn't resist it!  It is hand stamped by a lady in Savannah.  Her spoons are very popular here and they definitely caught my eye.  What a great idea, I thought it fit well for Valentines.  She also sells versions with wedding quotes on them for a bride and groom gift.

Nancy Thomas Art - I have a 12 month set!  Can't wait to display this art in my home!
